… and what is now, is.
I walk towards the clouds, staring at the light that falls upon them, and I watch the light change before my very eyes. The light will always change, and the shadows are what makes it all the more beautiful. This is what reminds me that everything will change. Nature rests and evolves with time — as moments pass — reminding us that moments do, indeed, pass. That is the value of now, the value of experience, the value of pain, joy, life. The bird song tonight will sound different tomorrow. This will feel different tomorrow.
And what is now, is.
It’s an immensity I cannot bear to try and carry. Beyond my own reality, nature reminds me that she, too, carries this weight. She is at peace. She teaches me how to be at peace. How to be at peace and let the light shine, even when there are shadows. She shows it on the clouds.
She shows me the trees swaying in the distance, the energy and wind that passes through them. And they, too, will again be still for a moment. The birds now sing, soon to rest. And they will rise and sing tomorrow. Nature, like life, experience, is transient.
